Before a child speaks, it sings. Before they write, they paint. As soon as they stand, they dance. Art is the basis of human expression - Phylicia Rashad, US actress
The arts are an important part of life throughout history, across the globe. Arts-based methods are relevant in daily life, including in the classroom and research, so you will find me using creative practices both in my private life and as a teacher-researcher. I love to sketch and paint, as well as sing and dance salsa, and will happily collaborate on any of the above!
On my travels, I use photography to capture moments I don't want to forget in places I have been privileged to live or visit. In my work as a teacher-researcher, I use photography to delve into places, ideas, and topics in a way that does not rely on language, while simultaneously being a spring-board for discussion.
